Forums - Sony - Intel to design Playstation 4 GPU

http://www.hardocp.com/news.html?news=Mzc3MTAsLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdCwsLDE=

From the article:

According to Charlie over at TheInq, the PlayStation 4 will use an Intel GPU. The article cites bad blood between Sony and NVIDIA as part of the reason for the move and goes on to say that Intel might even be doing the CPU. Of course this is all still unconfirmed, and 2012 is a few years away, but it is always fun to speculate.

So intel is doing the GPU and not ATI... and Intel could possibly be doing the CPU?  Does that mean they would discontinue the Cell or just give the tech over to Intel and have them revise it a bit?

Around the Network

Sony already dismissed this rumor.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Ah, in the gaming forum.  That'd be why I missed it.

Although, the rumor was never shot down.  The only small little blip about the rumor was paraphrased and still doesn't outright deny it at all:

TechRadar spoke with a Sony Computer Entertainment Europe rep who told us in no uncertain terms, "it's nonsense, and is quite possibly the best work of fiction I've read, since Lord of the Rings."

So there we go. Let the rumour and speculation about the PS4's CPU and GPU begin!

Damn. that response from Sony is no joke, usually Sony reps would just say "we don't comment on rumors and speculation". This time, they totally shot it down.
