Forums - Nintendo - Mushroom Men.

ok, i'll make a review (you can call it) or something, so you see what the game is about:

A meteor or something falls to earth and causes mushrooms to have brain, legs and so on.

You are a stupid mushroom, you head is your health, if you receive damage, top parts of you head start to break down and you can see the brain, if you receive a lot of damage, and you can see the whole brain, and, you die!

Collect several stupid things (like gum or a rock or those things you clear your teeth and stuff, to form different weapons, one is better than the other, and each can be used in different ways, one performs vertical attacks, other horizontal, other is flamethrower and so on)
You can switch between two weapons you set, using nunchuk and you attack using motion controls (they work but very simple - there are a lot of ways to kill enemies) and you guard using Z - using your head    :  )
there are a lot of weapons, i'm sure over 30 or something.

Use the arrows on the wii-remote to rotate camera and look around.

You can kill enemies by causing things to fell on them, like a working fan on a poor rappid, like firewood hunging from a wall in a stupid storage room on a stupid rat, or throwing to them other things, like rocks or whatever you can find around, which you control by motion control (like Star Wars: Force Unleashed) and throw using motion control, if you swing harder it will reach a higher distance or if you release the button and swing at the correct time).

The mushroom also has to ability to use something like the spiderman or somthing to grab onto high walls on which you can stick, by extending your sticky hand  : P

The graphics are awesome (at least for me), one of the best on Wii, and the environments are so well designed, lot of imagination!

Something special about the game is that you are a mushroom in mushroom size, and you visit places in human size, like a storage room, a rabbit's nest, a kitchen (hope you got it), you also climb on motorbikes and stuff, it's cool!!

You solve puzzles, find ways to open doors, prevent a plant eaten from rabbits so it lets you get through and this kind of stuff.

some images:

also hold head to fly slowly from high places to lower for example

looks great to my eyes

this turtle is a nightmare :P

and here comes a not so great part, the game could have been much longer, i'd say is about 10 hours for story, but maybe much more if you would like to reach all hidden areas and collect all hidden items, parts and stuff.

i'll give scores as well, my best part:

presentation: 8.3

graphics: 9.0

gameplay: 7.5

sound: 9.0

lasting appeal: 6.9

OVERALL: 8.2

*IGN gave a well worthed 7.9, which is good, i feel the game deserves a lot more than what it gets : (

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

problem is it had ZERO ad budget.

i'd give it a good 8 score. music is excellent, graphics good, some nice humor in there though sometimes its a bit fustrating on finding out what to do.

my 7yr old finished it a few weeks ago, took him about 15hrs or so, i have yet to play much- been busy- but i like it alot.

@dark_ghost thanks for the review, you should actually make that in a separate thread so it won't get lost here. very informative stuff.

TWRoO asked me something about Luigi's Mansion earlier in the thread.  I was just responding to him.  I haven't had the chance to play Mushroom Men yet.

Sorry.
