All the PS360 games who need to sell 1 to 2 million copies just to break even will fail, except the ones who will sell 2 to 5 millions... makes sense, don't you think?
The business model for the Wii and the DS is the best if we want to see new ideas, new styles, new gameplays, more "niche" games and more originality... the industry needs to open its mind, and go beyond the tastes of the 20-30 million FPS lovers out there... otherwise, it will soon suicide itself...
There's room for many types of games on Wii, and if PS2 had such a diversity, then there's no way Wii couldn't have the same kind of library... plenty of choices for everyone and every taste, except maybe if you're addicted to the "hyper-realistic" stuff, only possible on PC and PS360...
So far, most of the best 3rd parties Wii games have at least made a profit, and some will even have a sequel (Boom Blox, No More Heroes, De Blob, Red Steel)...
And as the userbase grows, i don't think that trend will stop: there's room for nearly all gaming genres on Wii, and profits are easier to be found than on PS360...
Some 3rd parties will soon learn the lesson the hard way, the others are already doing fine, and sometimes just need to bring on more quality games, and not so many poor cash-ins... it's all about business decisions and respect of the consumers, but it's not about Wii's hardware, at least that's the way i see it...

Red Steel has been made too fast for Wii's launch, and as many other gamers, i didn't find the game that great...
But with more time to polish, more experience to use Wii's possibilities fully, and the use of Wii Motion Plus, the potential is there for the sequel to be absolutely awesome...

Red Steel is a core game, fine, you might not like it and you might not think it's a core game, but that does not matter. You know, I can just as well say what I think, I like that game and your opinion does not weight more then mine.
Right, Red Steel has allot of mistakes and things that could be better that might irritate the gamer, but so does Fable 2 and so many other games. All we can hope for is that they fixes old mistakes in the sequels and that new mistakes does not shine as much as the old ones did.
For Red Steel 2, I hope for better looking and bigger outdoor levels and better controls, then I'm happy as long as the rest of the sequel ain't worse.
More on topic:
Mega Man games did not do to well on Nes, think about how it would turn out if Capcom had killd the first sequels?
Even the average sales of the genre thing is bull, because Call of Duty on HD systems are NOT average sales of that genre. Those are HIGH END. CoD on the Wii would have to be compared to average FPS sales, not outliers.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
