Forums - Sony - Killzone 2 aim/look speed: Realism? Or bad attempt at it?

Rubido: that is indeed a possibility.

On the other hand, because it is harder, it could also be that casuals fire off entire clips without hitting anything or that they are dead before they have even seen their mark.

I was actually thinking of something in the lines of "everyone aiming for the body". Casuals will not try to be super precise and will aim for the body. Everyone else will have to do the same if it is more efective.

I usually like fps games with more recoil... but it might be a good thing if you look at it in a certain sense.

By the way, I never played COD4. Only World at War.

I'll be honest the control feeling of the game does hinder the gameplay. After 24 hours of god knows how many attempts on playthrough the gameplay isnt much different from KZ1. Lets not even mention the very LOL sixaxis in the game. But there is definately something about the aiming that always leaves you wondering did I hit my target.

Your never actually sure that your burst will hit the target. It's only when the enemy recoils (in marvellous animation I might add) that you think wtf? I hit him?

It's sad because when you see the animation and the effects of grenades you want to love the game, but you just cant. Theres to much that was promised and not enough delivered. Heres hoping for the full game to have what my expectations were. Otherwise it's an above average shooter, that unfortunatly leave my £299 in my bank a little longer.

I loved the feeling of the controls. You need to adjust/evolve your playing and aiming style to fit the game.

Its not hate but jealousy. If you don't have anything legit to bitch about make stuff up, not that it matters the game is set for mega success no matetr what fanboys post about.

Its like the idiots that whined Halo3 graphics were sup par, at the end they were not but that never actually mattered. A few sad fanboys opinion on a forum mean nothing no matter how much they think it does.

K2 controls are perfect for what it is, and thank god its not another floating gun jump 5 feet in the air get shot out of a "air cannon" land 100m bs fps.

Twingo in a thread where people are sharing opinions and getting along fine, why do you come looking for trouble. They are only opinions. I'm sure your right KZ2 sales will be healthy. I believe it will do nicely and sit right behind MGS4 with about 2.5 mill. So dont worry. :)

My main problem with the controls is that after you stop pushing the joystick it goes a little further. When your into precision aiming as much as I am, this will get hinder gameplay. I almost exclusively go for headshots in FPS games.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

There's no option to solve the problem,  but all they need to do is provide that option - for the campaign, allow the player to switch anytime between fast/precise controls or what we have now. For multiplayer, make it a server option that the host can adjust before starting a match.....it'll let people make their matches a little more competitive if they wish. There wouldn't be any reason for anyone to complain.

At that point, the game would be extremely friendly to both the casual and hardcore. KZ2 would get a little more attention through word-of-mouth as a game that can cater to a wider audience, and that right there will be healthy for it in the long run. A variety of options are always good, no matter how big or small they are.

I had been playing the demo on the Alt2 configuration but i went back and played it on the standard controls with no hold to zoom and found that i liked it a lot better.... now i can cover and also zoom in too.... the standard controls felt like the days of using my trusty old battle rifle clickin that right stick to zoom *tear* wow now I really love this game.

I didn't care too much for the way they implemented the controls. It seemed like the "realism" was added after I played the demo at TGS this last October. It would be nice if GG could add an option in a patch. Maybe if there enough complaints.

I'm on a tight budget this month, and I'll probably just get Star Ocean 4 first.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
