I mean software sales...

You know how we track japan sales apart from asia..why cant we do that for the uk?

The uk seems like a bigger market than japan now...we need to track software sales sepretely for that region...

USA is the biggest individual market and it's not tracked separately, so I hardly see why UK should be.

Same with the UK though

Last I checked UK didn't hold it's own continental shelf so I'm sure it's just an island on the same shelf as most of the rest of Europe.

Not saying that's the reason Japan is tracked seperatly, no it's because 2/3 of the gaming industry is from Japan, video games in their current form are from Japan and Japan sees many titles US and EU see months before either region.

On another note, if it could be possible maybe a searchable category could be used if one is looking for a tracked country in specific.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Where in NJ5s post did he mistake USA for a continent. He said that the USA is the biggest inividual market, which is true.

To be honest the reason it is tracked like this is probably because of Nintendo, Sega and Sony.... early on Nintendo used to give financial reports giving just domestic and overseas figures... domestic being just Japan, and then the rest seperately. Eventually they seperated "Americas" so that there were 3 major regions. Japan still at that time being a major region in and of itself (I mean the PS2 sold 20 million + there, which is only half what it sold in the other two regions despite the populations being 3-5 times as much)

Since NPD there has been a growing number of interviews where the state of the market in the USA alone is mentioned, but the official reports are still given as the whole of America and the "other" which is mostly Europe, but included Australia Africa and some parts of Asia.

There is another factor here which is Television... with the far East using NTSC which is presumably slightly different to NTSC for America... while Europe and some other places use PAL. But then why are the far Eastern non-Japan countries, which I guess use the same TVs as Japan (like Korea) counted in "other" instead of with Japan.
