I personally feel the Penecostals put too much emphasis on the role of the Holy Spirit in worship. Thus where the use of speaking in tongues comes from. The Bible speaks of a Christian being baptised of the Spirit and they take to far imo, however, there other beliefs line up with mine, and I have no doupt they are Christians too.

Speaking in tongues as mentioned the bible is not the same as the video u see on Youtube. In the bible it was when the 12 apostle first went to spread the Gospel to the known world the Abibity to speak, and everyone hear it in their own lang. For example the Apostle Thomas went to the region around the Indus river, for the people to understand him he must have had the gift of tongues.

When it comes to the HS there is a difference between indwelling and possesstion, I feel the people in the video above are misguided into thinking it has more to do with possesstion.

 

That is not my church back home man.  It is not.  And so what if they want to praise God with a joyful shout.  Praise in any form is still praise that is deemed worthy by God.  Maybe some would prefer for the very rocks to cry out but I would much rather have His loyal creation to.

 

 

I never said it was a bad thing, that is how they choose to worship God, that is fine. My great uncle was an AoG preacher for over 20 years, so I respect them, I just think they have a wrong view of the Holy Spirit's role, hardly an issue to fight over, but big enough to keep me from joining the AoG unless there were no other Evangelical churches around.

If you are right, I die and turn to dust.

If I am right, well, the consequences are not so good for those who are wrong.

The only thing I lose is maybe some freedoms while I live, but then again, I never feel opressed by my beliefs so really nothing.

 

I meant it would suck for you (and me) if you chose the wrong God/religion. I doubt Zeus would be very happy that you chose to believe in the Christian God instead of him.

 

I see what you are saying, that is why I believe Athiest and Theist alike rely on faith.

Also with the Zues thing, I honestly believe the ancient greeks and romans were trying to worship the same God I now do, they just did not have special revelation (the bible) as of then. They only had general revelation to draw from (creation and nature). I honestly dont know or will I ever be able to know how God deals with people that tried to worship, but did not know how. Now we have the Bible they will be held without excuse, but before the Bible? I am not sure.

You should pick Christianity; we, unlike the others, are the correct answer!

The difference between Christianity and the other is our savior is a living savior.

Buhda = Dead

Muhamed = Dead

Joseph Smith = Dead

Krishna = Dead

Confusus = Dead

Jesus = Arisen

That there shows a difference, also if you study old testiment prophecy you will notice that not one of them has been wrong, many of them have already been fulfilled, some have not yet, but still will be.

For example the OT predicted the destruction of Jerusalem, The future empires that came and went (Nebecanezzer's dream), The Birthplace of jesus, He rejection amonst the Jews, his death, the means of his death, the Rebirth of Israel, and many many other things, that might help give you some faith if you studied Bible prophecy, the accuracy is amazing, actually supernatural.
