Does anybody have any information about Wii demographics? Nintendo says that their audience is everyone, but I don't believe that it is so. Do you have any figures to share?

I doubt there're any figures concerning Wii demographics, but DS and Wii demographics looks pretty similar to me. So it should be smth like this, I guess: http://kotaku.com/5058974/who-are-japans-biggest-ds-users (DS demographics in Japan). Quite wide demographics as seen from the chart.

There audience is anyone who likes having fun playing video games. That is who they try to target. Just because fanboys of Sony or Microsoft believe that only kiddies and grandmas play on Nintendo doesn't make it true. Personally, I know more people in the 13-30 year range who have Wii's than any other console, so I'm sure Nintendo's targets everyone.

Anyways, the graph that mai linked to, there was a similar one for Wii, with similar results, but both were only for Japan. I don't think there has been any study like this for any European or American nations.

Nintendo targets everybody that’s what a smart (yes it is clear what I mean by that) company does to get the most money.

As nordlead said the fanboys say a lot that is not true that is part of their job you know to talk shit about other companies.

The people I know who own a Wii are over 20 and I know A LOT of people.

The Wii is target at Kids (8/9 year old's ect). Purchased and loved by women and non-gamer (casual) dad's. Its pretty obvious marketing...

Awhile back Nintendo did release some demographic information about the Wii (in Japan IIRC) ... Essentially the Wii was capturing gamers pretty evenly across the board, although they did have some weakness with 13 to 21 year old boys IIRC.

Wii has been on track to steadily expand into the Japanese market and the user base in each age demographic is becoming wider.
