o with EA's newfound admiration for Nintendo's console, we thought we would take a look to see just how well the publisher's Wii games performed last year. In total, EA delivered 22 games on the Wii in 2008, including Rock Band which is a partnership with MTV Games. Some were clear successes on the system, like Rock Band and Madden NFL 09. Others didn't fare so well. Here are EA's top 10 best-selling Wii games of 2008, according to VG Chartz.com:

1. Rock Band -- 1,034,800 units (standalone disc and Special Edition)
2. Madden NFL 09 All-Play -- 600,000
3. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 All-Play -- 493,500
4. NERF N-Strike -- 490,000
5. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 -- 455,000
6. Boom Blox -- 422,000
7. EA Playground -- 334,000
8. Rock Band 2 -- 284,000 (standalone disc and Special Edition)
9. MySims -- 255,000
10. Hasbro Family Game Night -- 227,000

Yeah IGN Wii uses VGC a lot and mentions it in their podcasts from time to time when they don't have NPD numbers.

Rock Band looks fine if they adjusted for US only, but then Madden looks high. Boom Blox looks high no matter what. Tiger Woods 09 and 08 have their rankings reversed... the list of weirdness just goes on and on.

Yeah, that's what I noticed. Boom Blox is 355k in America, not 422k, and worldwide 700k. So they're are wrong with the numbers. Anyway... good for VGChartz

Hardly. I never heard them mention VGC once. Ive been listening to their podcast for almost 1 year.

Ive heard 1UP Yours mention the site before though.

i think alot more sites use vgchartz than they let on...alot of people just dont want to admit to it because lets face it ... its not OFFICIAL numbers.. but there have been alot of occasions when ive been on a site and i thought to myself vgchartz is the only place where they could have gotten specific numbers for that game
