Forums - Nintendo - Dead Space confirmed for the Wii

Well I hope you guys get a good port. EA better make the franchise proud, because the original game is great.

Would motion controls improve gameplay? Or even MotionPlus? I haven't played the game.

IR would make aiming easier, but this isn't a game that requires much accuracy in the first place. Also, they may have to sacrifice the laser sight in favor of a normal reticle (like RE4), which would completely ruin what made Dead Space so special.

It'd have to be a completely different game. We'll see what they do with it. Dead Space was one of my favourites last year, so I look forward to hearing more about this.

IGN says it's in fact a "new" dead Space:

Probably a precuel, when the necormorphs started to inffect the planet

I just read their dead space article and they say they hope it's a new game and not just a port. It would seem they dont know either. EA has said it's a new take on the game, which could mean anything from new game, "chop till you drop" different focus or just being a port (as a port down to Wii would have to be different in some ways).

This news is especially surprising after how poorly Skate it seems to be doing. I hope the game turns out well, and it might just take off, but the series hasn't exactly set the world aflame on the 360 and PS3, and I can't help but seeing it have a Bioshock Ps3 effect.

Oh well, lets wait till we see it in action.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

What they need is an advertising push + good word of mouth. With these two things I think it can do pretty good. Remember, since it is on wii and costs less, it does not need as many sales as the HD ones to be a success.

The audience is there, as RE4 Wii edition and RE:UC have proven Wii owners like to kill zombies.

I'd love to hear trestres's perspective on EA right about now, I'm sure he could convince at least himself that EA intends the doom of the Wii.

I'm not even certain what Dead Rising is, so I'm not on sure why anyone is excited, honestly nothing EA does has ever appealed to me, even Mirrors Edge got my 60 because I figured EA was doing something new.. Ea Big however have SSX... if this means a new SSX for 09, this time complete, then I'm going to give EA a nice big donation.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

This could potentially be absurdly awesome. If it's just a down port of the HD version then screw it, I'm not paying 50 dollars for IR pointing and an otherwise downgraded version. But EA did want to turn it into a new franchise, so if it's a whole new Dead Space for wii, then holy hell it jumps to the top of my list. Last Year Dead Space was one of my Favorite games of the year along with No More Heroes and Valkyria Chronicles. It was just bad ass. If it's a new Dead Space with IR it will be one of my most anticipated games, I really really really hope it's not just a downport.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.
