i definatly liked ign preview better, for one it talked about metroid and the game experience. you should see the Halo reviews by 1 up

If you only own the Wii IGN is definitely the place to go to for previews/reviews, they write everything specifically targeted towards Wii owners whereas other sites seem to write their Wii stuff for 360 fans or something.

It's the number one "this gen" console in the world and it still gets no respect. It's just stupid on the parts of these sites not to have specific reviewers. As is, a lot of the reviewers are just clueless. Look at the preview by the 1up guys. They refer to halo all the time and whine about the controls. This is what will keep MP3 from getting great reviews, nerds who have drunk too much of the PS360 kool-aid.

Matt C's a Metroid fan, but a fair reviewer...which is what I want.  He's got high expectations for the game, so I don't expect him to give MP3 a high score simply because it's Metroid.

In fact, a Metroid fan could very well give it a lower score if it doesn't meet expectations.

But yeah...I like IGN because their Wii reviews tell Wii owners whether or not it's worth buying...they don't constantly compare it to PS3/360 games or whatever...just whether or not it's worth it for the Wii owner.

Wait, where did Gamespot compare it to Halo?  I just read the preview, they sounded impressed...

They did call Ridley a "she" though...

I hate that 1up preview, I mean Halo/bioshock comparisons are bad enough, but Heavenly Sword? The crap? That preview is such BS. I never visited that site alot, but it has now been black balled as a crap news site, I give it no respect after reading that preview.

What the heck is this 1UP preview? It's nothing to the plot of Halo 3 and Heavenly Sword? Halo 3 is The Covenant invading earth, after losing the best part of them: the Elites, they might as well change the name of The Covenant to "The Monkeys" because all that's left is the retarded brutes (who's AI has looked nothing short of ridiculous in the videos shown so far). Heavenly Sword is a terminally ill girl who decides to kill an evil emperor before she dies. That's the whole plot...

Then, they say the graphics suck because it doesn't look like Bioshock, claiming it looks nearly identical to the Gamecube games (which it doesn't... not even close). How are you even going to compare Metroid Prime 3 to Bioshock? They are completely different games on completely different systems. Then, they claim the first area is a copy of Halo (I watched the full first hour, and it looks nothing like anything in Halo).

The only redeeming factor in their review is at the end they say that they shouldn't judge the game on the first few hours... after spending an entire preview judging the game on the first few hours. I can't wait for 1UP to go out of business >_>

I have to agree about the 1UP preview, my first impressions were that you guys might be overreacting a bit about it, but once I read the thing it was seriously nothing more than an Xbot talking about their impressions of Prime 3. Really sad if that is all 1UP has to offer on a game that is getting high praise from pretty much all the major review sites in their previews.

Wow, 1up compared it to Bioshock, Heavenly Sword, Halo 3, Half-Life, said that the controls would take an hour to get used to,( While all the other sites and members of this same board claim that the controls are almost flawless) said that the game looks Ok for the Wii but meh compared to other consoles and in the end they rendered their own preview useless by saying that we cannon judge a games from the first hours of play.

Thank God they are not biased against Nintendo then as some claim. 1up...just close already, please.
