why have all rumors for a FF7 remake suddenly gone?

Because, there's no footage or pictures to keep rumor going, the only thing there was that technical demo, and people got tired waiting for it.

They probably died when SE started supporting Microsoft's 360 more. Although it makes a multi-plat more plausible, Sony fans probably don't want that to happen, so they don't mention it.

I wish & hope that FF6 and FF7 get HD remakes...I'd kill for a 360 version of FF6 and 7.

Honestly, FF7 = FF13.

At least that is what I get from that new trailer...

Because it was a techdemo, many years ago, SE themselves assured that it was only a techdemo and not a game in development and we haven't heard anything solid ever since.
I think that may be why.

Probably because its taking square a decade just to get FF13 out the doors. Wouldn't want to swamp them with another remake as well....since 80% of their games that come out seem to be remakes anymore.
