Why would you need a fast connection for Starcraft ?

small country + large population (in relation to landmass) = fast internet.

Australia on the other hand has a huge landmass and a population of only 21 million making investment into faster pipes both costly and less profitable then in other countries. I have a 10mbps connection btw. Which is perfectly fine but I'm not looking forward to playing Koreans in starcraft 2.

That makes sense but surely we should have faster internet in the UK ?

Yes as said above, Starcraft was and still is a way of life in Korea. When Starcraft II is released there, it's going to be madness..

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

100mbps:=)

They may say its goes that fast, but in the real world no one is going to get that. Mine says 7mbps and i get around 5, with the internet company slowing it down all the time whenever they feel like it, and since the internet is run in a monopoly you are screwed no matter who you get. Then you have the Japanese with 100+mbps connections only getting 40 on average.

They are preparing for starcraft 2 for sure. :)

In 2014 75% of Germany should have access to 50MB/s. I thought that was pretty fast. That would make HD-movie downloads pretty easy. 720p movie in 8 minutes is possible. Let's say a 1080p movie on your HDD in 25 Minutes. Really looking forward to this.

Or a huge game like GTA IV would be on your HDD in 10 minutes. Crazy.

A 1gb/s connection is just insane. That is like plug n play with movies or games.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

50Mbit/s is enuff. You can stream 2 Blu-ray movies simultaneously with that connection. I can understand with a business, but why would private persons need more than that??

On Svalbard they tested Grid a couple of years back. 56Gbps...

Too bad the world will end before they can enjoy that 1GBPs to its fullest potential.
