Yes, it is quite common for rebranding to take place. Often you're paying more for one, not for the hardware (which is the same) but for the brand itself - better warranty, customer service, cooler colour, nice sticker on side, etc.

Your head might explode then when you saw my 2.5 TB's of HD space.
Had to change my sig to get some moderator to quit bitching about it......
this sounds similar to my own planned build... lol.. minus the ATI GPU.

na, I have zero plans for a GPU upgrade with my build for a few months amttering GPU releases. I'll put my 9600GT in and wait for the GTX3xx series.
My old 8400GS will go into this desktop im currently using and given to my sister.

Two questions I suppose...
1) Do you really need the extra HDD space right now? Are your current ones too small that you really need the extra for storage?
2) It's a matter of taste, but that case seems really ugly to me. What do you like about it?

I'm doing something similar. I'm giving my kids this computer (they don't know it yet, hehe). It's no slouch itself. C2D E6600, GA-P945-DS3, ATi X1950XTX, 4 GB DDR2 667. Dual boots Windows Vista and Ubuntu 8.10 on a 74 GB WD Raptor.
I'll say one thing...they shouldn't have any trouble doing their homework on it.

1. Yes. Between my video and music collection, games and archiving, the space will come in handy. Besides, 1 TB for $100 is damn nice. I considered an SSD but $100 barely gets you 64 GB.
2. Those fans will do well to move a lot of air quietly. Instead of adding a half dozen smaler, louder fans, these two alone will keep things cool and quiet. Of course I'll toss another 120 mm on the back.

1. You would be shocked for how much space you need if you have a Steam account... I have nearly 100GBs of games installed and about another 150GBs not installed. Frankly for my build, while I hate SeaGate, will be SeaGate's newest HDD which has 500GB per platter and its fast as hell.
2. I agree, I prefer NZXT's cases. Thats why I'll be getting a NZXT Tempest.

I'll add a good remote desktop option to it so when that game of Extreme Shooting shuts off for some unexplained reason......
