lol! RPG, you are so obsessed with this game. No one here ever said the game was going to sell a bazillion copies, yet you lead a vanguard that consists of only yourself that in proclaims the game won't do as well as the PSP versions.

No one is disagreeing with you! Which is why this is so funny.

Anyways, I think 300k - 500k first week playing it pretty safe.

This. So much truth and pwnage in one simple reply.

Wrong, people actually think the Wii version will sell like the PSP versions, some think it will sell more.

All i have to say on the matter is, the Wii version of monster hunter and MH3-Wii isnt even going to sell half the amount of what the psp MH has sold. I think it will be a struggle for the game to hit 1 million on the Wii never mind 1.5 mil min what some people here are predicting lol

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

500-750k lifetime. There's nothing to indicate it will do any better than that.

Also, for those who have been asking, the reason it sells so much better on PSP is because Japanese gamers often have much more time to spend with their handhelds than consoles, and would probably prefer to devote their console time to something else that wouldn't work well at all on a handheld like fighters or cinematic games.  The Japanese are really, really losing interest in consoles.

Maybe 2 million...

Monster Hunter is more sucessfull in handhelds
. Just like Pokemon.

If the game saw successful handheld releases followed by poorly selling console versions I'd agree. What we're seeing here isn't a series that only works on handhelds, but a series that gets more and more popular as it goes. And the Wii is going to keep that trend going.

Well, except for the fact the PSP games are much better than the PS2 games.

So MH2 was a step down from MHP? Somehow I doubt that.

Yes, I'd say the handheld versions of the game are much better in every way outside of graphics even though the PSP games look beautiful.

The style of MH lends itself to portable gaming.

Even more reason for it to fail everyone's expectations miserably.  While the WiiMote has some potential to spice up the gameplay (that I think they are skipping, iirc), there are a multitude of reasons why the series will retain its popularity on the PSP.  Also, aren't the people who play MH at home in Japan now on MHF?

Bump.

My prediction was wrong. Though I'm glad it wasn't right.
