Game is releasing on the Wii probably this year in Japan, no confirmed release date as of yet. With that said what do you think will be the first week and lifetime sales of MH3 in Japan? I say Japan because that is where the game is the biggest, I will not give my predictions yet because from past experience it seems some people have vastly different expectations compared to me for the console game.

Previous sales for the MH games according to this website in million(s):

Monster Hunter G - PS2 - 0.28

Monster Hunter - PS2 - 0.23

Monster Hunter 2 - PS2 - 0.63

Monster Hunter Freedom - PSP - 1.41

Monster Hunter Freedom 2 - PSP - 2.32

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite - PSP - 2.86

I think its sales first week should be around 100-300k ,and if they manage to best the control this game should easily reach 2-2.5M lifetime because many MH fans'll be so happy to play new MH. XD

I think 100-300k first week is being conservative but thankfully the first person to enter the thread did not say 800k first week like the PSP version. Then again I wanted the giggles. :(

If the game saw successful handheld releases followed by poorly selling console versions I'd agree. What we're seeing here isn't a series that only works on handhelds, but a series that gets more and more popular as it goes. And the Wii is going to keep that trend going.

I think this game will do around 300-400k first week in Japan and see LTD numbers of around 1.5-2 million since the Japanese seem to be insane about these games, which i don't understand and i have freedom for the PSP and it is mediocre at best!
