I wouldn't miss him
Though the Original Sonic The Hedgehog 1-3 were amazing games, spent countless hours on them :D after that my love for sonic died, pretty fast
I only count 26 games, not 50... unless he's including ports/all versions of a game, such as the three Unleasheds.
He doesn't deserve to die. He can't control what games Sega puts him in, lol.
But seriously, he has so much built-in potential it's not even funny. Sonic games still routinely sells a million or more copies. Imagine if Sega could make a GREAT sonic, just once more. My God, I know about 5 million (or more) people who would be on that like white on rice in about 4 seconds.

Sonic didn't go bad. Hell, Sega didn't even go bad. Team Sonic went bad.
Sonic still kicks ass in his 2-D DS games, and in Brawl, and in Mario & Sonic.
I'd preffer it if "Sonic Team" was known as "Team" instead.
While I'm talking about prefferences I'd also preffer the new "Team" to never be allowed to make anything video or game or the likeness of either.
I'd honestly preffer them to be lined up on a wall and shot but... that's just me. I'm going to go cry now as I remember PSO while playing Monster Hunter.. on my PS3. V_V
Oh and the blue rat would better off be known as "The Hedgehog formerlly known as Sonic The Hedgehog" that may send him on the right path.
Edit
I'd also preffer that "Sonic" not be used to refference sound or travel at it's relative pace instead the word "woosh" would be used, ie: Sub-Sonic would be replaced with Sub-Woosh.I'm Unamerica and you can too.
The Official Huge Monster Hunter Thread:
The mistakes of the series were largely in the direction of story problems. Shadow the hedgehog was fine, but it was an aesthetic and story nightmare. Shooting and killing human soldiers in a Sonic game? A story that was probably ripped from a FanFiction.net user named "MyChemicalRomance4Eva"? Not the right idea. Sonic 2006 had the same problem. Bestiality ftl and Silver wtf.
With Secret Rings, it was a step in the right direction for both gameplay and story. The story made no sense, but they weren't trying to have it make any sense, so it worked. Sonic Unleashed was a step back. Werehog was actually pretty fun, but the concept was once again nonsensical to the story in a way that was detrimental. The running stages gratefully borrowed from Secret Rings, and actually improved upon them i daresay. The only problem was Chip. I hate him.
Black Knight looks like a step in the right direction again. They are reintroducing the peripheral characters, but slowly, and they're still not really sweating the story, but slowly adding more back to the gameplay. And it seems that the combat is complimentary to the speed, a part of it, not in opposition to it.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
I don't want to see sonic die. He is a pretty awesome character. It is getting sad though that I don't even look forward to new sonic games because the chance of them being good are slim to none.
