Even though I have 4 nunchucks I'm tossing around the idea of buying this one.

For amazon's Deal of the Day, they are selling the Nyko Kama Wireless controller for $20 off (normally 34.99). Not a bad deal considering normal nunchucks are $20.

Also, this is a pre-order, as it is released May 15th.

Does anyone 'round these parts have one of these? I've heard such mixed reviews about it that I never bothered picking one (or more) up.

yea, these were the ones that got released then pulled correct? I was hoping someone would come in here and provide some feedback.

Amazon has pages of reviews. Some people thought the old version had response issues (especially with Wii Fit boxing, Wii Sports boxing, and SMG) and battery life issues. Other people disagreed. One of the positive reviews said the battery lasted around 15 hours; whereas, the Amazon page says it lasts up to 30 hours (maybe that is just being on but not being used in any way).

The product was pulled because of patent issues. While it was redesigned, I have no reason to think it was redesigned in a way so that it will perform better. I doubt the performance will change but if the it does, it will likely change for the worse.

Yes, I know what the Amazon reviews say (and that they were so incredibly mixed) which is why I wanted (and still do) a more firsthand account...

good deal i might pick one of these up today....can I use the rechargeable battery packs that come with the Nyko charge station??

Ok people here it is.

I have a Kama (the nice looking old one) and it works great. I bought about a month ago id think, and ive probably played a good 20+ hours with the included batteries. As for responce, well it works just like a regualr nunchuk...about a good 95% of the time. THere are time when it will disconect, and youll be unable to do much for a sec or two, but thats very rare. A bigger problem i faced was its range or strength of it. IF i had somthing in between the Wiimote (and dongle) and Kama, its effectivness would drop a good 40%. Example, i would play on the floor with my knee up, my right arm on one side and my left on the other. After a while i learned that the Kama didnt work well in that possition, i switched to a couch and ive been playing at a good 95% or so effecency.

At $15 i think its a steal. Ive played the Kama with games like Re4, MP3, and CODWAW, among others. So i think its a great product.
