I'm sure they'll think of something to counter this. If they could save a DS from slowing down they can save a Wii from losing momentum in Japan.
On track to outsell the PS2 during a recession and people are still trying to make the Wii look bad. Tsk tsk.

Profit forecasts. The Wii is still selling more or less according to what they expected, except in Japan. Wii is as close to recession-proof as any console is going to get.
When Ninty start slashing hardware *shipment* forecasts, I'll be worried. If you sell most of your units in the US/Europe, and make 20% less profit because of a weak target currency... what can you do.
I'm sure they have significant US currency reserves - but for the point of financial results, they pretty much have to quote figures in Yen. They will make this money back in the future, if/when the currencies re-balance.
