There was no book, and games go out of print, you know.
And I take it you lied about reading the book?
no when you said nobody cared when it was in print i thought you meant like a book turned video game. I was saying i wouldnt have even known the book existed if i didn't play the game. I'm sorry. I misunderstood you
yeah. I actually wasn't planning on getting sotc but it was either that or manhunt and I prefer the fantasy kind of games over street stuff lol
Wow, sudden burst of posts lol.
I had a demo for ICO that came with a magazine (OPM?) when it came out. I gave the demo a shot, but I didn't understand anything about the game (damn young foolishness!). I found out about and immediately purchased SoTC in late 2006 and loved it and I was eventually able to get my hands on ICO thanks to Gamefly the next year and loved it as well.
Last year, I made it my mission to get my room mate to play through SoTC and ICO before he graduated and moved out. He loved the games and rightly so.
The music really makes the games, especially SoTC. When you can finally grab ahold of a colossi and the music changes, it gets so exciting.

LOL.
I remember playing a demo of the game at GameStop when I was 13 or so, and I had no idea what was going on. I finally got the game last summer, and lover it.

Kind of in terms of a vague story and such, but ICO is almost entirely a game where you escort another character. You protect Yorda, solve environmental puzzles to get Yorda and yourself to the next area, and you're confined in a castle.
| DaxIthR said: Great game. Very disappointing controls. Sluggish and unresponsive. Getting on to Agro always took at least three tries. One of the things I like most about it is that it's not a game that can be knocked off. It was such a departure from conventional design that if anyone did try to 'pay homage to it' in their own way, it would come off as cheap and misguided. |
Having to struggle with Agro (and using him in combat) was what created such a strong connection with him.
