Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo lowered their Wii shipment forecasts by 1 million

DKII said:
It's Japan. And Americas doesn't need the extra million this quarter. So they'll either slow production a bit or hold onto the extra until next holiday. There might be excess supply in Japan they need to bleed off too.

I can see that, Japan has been really weak for the Wii compared to the west. (as have all home consoles in Japan)

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Around the Network

Amount of adjustment for each console is about :

Wii about 2.25%
Xbox360 about 1.36%
PS3 about 0.41%

So it means all have been adjusted ,i think it normal and nothing special about this. :)

^were all adjustments down? I think I saw some threads claiming PS3 undertracked and therefore looking for an upward adjustment (seemed there were 2 miliion PS3s on the shelves at year end)

Elaine: I will never understand people

Jerry: They're the worst.

For one thing, Nintendo was adjusted down 1 mill, causing it to trail 2.45 mill. compared to the rest of the competition.
