I think the quibble raised in the review is a pretty fair one and worth pushing an otherwise excellent game down to a 9. If a game has no challenge then where is the sense of satisfaction and achievement?
Don't get me wrong. I think it looks awesome and will buy it, but I think they have a point.
I think it's good to give it some flak for it's cons rather than overlooking it. I've seen that it has some animation problems and a couple of other little things. While that may not be a major problem, that is still something. I'll give the demo a try today after my classes.
The gamespot reviewer that reviewed Bioshock is also the one that gave Zelda: Twilight Princess a 8.6.
Just keep that in mind.

^8.8. Gamespot is a good site, but Jeff is a pain in my and many other gamer's butt.
It sounds to me like he was disappointed with the difficulty level. I have heard the same complaint from the people at my local GameCrazy. "Too short, I've heard people can beat it the first time through in 15 hours."
A fair score, although he seems to be approaching this from the viewpoint of "let's grade this for the average Halo fan".

You guys should also take into consideration Gamespot has changed their rating method. They no longer will give out 9.7 or 9.8. Everything is now rounded down to the nearest .5, so they may also mess up the scores of more great games.

Hmm if it is just a port with the same graphics I would rate the GC version also higher.

I too *secrently* want MP3 to win but seeing as Gamespot now reviews with a .5 nearest round I can safely assume it won't win... *cries*

In that case, I have no problems with a 9.0 and I'm a ways into the game now.
