I would actually like to see some evidence of that aftervall Eurogamer is a well respected site imo. |
You don't get to have Eurogamer TV featured for free in XBLA without writing a renewable contract between the two parties. Eurogamer stands to benefit a lot from the 360, especially since their content is delivered, for free to the user, via a Microsoft service. They pay for it, and it benefits them (greatly, I might add), and the contract is renewed on a regular basis. Thus, my use of the term "deals".
Upsetting a partner in a good business arrangement is always a bad idea. Since they benefit more from XBLA than they do from PSN, its in their best interest to keep their partner in the XBLA arrangement happy, and the 360 community/consumer healthy and numerable. MS has nothing to do with the motivations directly -- they are merely the good business partner Eurogamer wants to keep happy and fruitful.
There's nothing wrong with them being a smart business -- yet, they have an unusual bias against PS3 titles, and most everyone seems to agree. There's a blatent relationship between them and MS with the XBLA deal. 2 + 2 == the obvious, IMO.
9/10 and ill be happy

I don't think MGS4 deserves a 10. A very high 9 seems more realisitic. An 8 is much too low though.

As far as I recall, Eurogamer TV can be watched in the Home Theater as well, so it goes towards Sony too.
@ Ninjakido
they almost always do this when a hyped up game is about to be released. I remember Eurogamer doing the same before LBP review hit the site.
Sorry for double post
@ people bitching about Eurogamer giving MGS4 8 out of 10
MGS4 was an awesome game. No doubt about it. But it had one small weak point. The transition from Act 1 & 2 to Act 3 was horrible. Act 1 & 2 had the warzone difference thing and you could help out the militia and all, but in Act 3, they changed it in an rather than doing it gradually. This made Act 3 feel mediocore when all of us know in reality, it was awesome.I think this may be a the reason some reviewers gave it a 10. Besides, MGS4 is a love it or hate it game.
PS : Eurogamer also gave Gears of War an 8. That doesn't stop it from beeing awesome. Eurogamer also game MGS3 an 8, again because itsof the love it or hate it type.
