well no surpise it bombed. No advertising what so ever about it on tv.
Why do people keep saying it bombed? We don't even know that Capcom lost money on it. All we know is that they didn't make money on it. Many, many games are considered to be nothing more than break even, and a company like Capcom is usually satisfied to get their games to that point. They got their money back and can try again with a new idea that might catch on better, after all. Chances are, that's exactly where Z&W is - they didn't make enough money to be called profitable but (except possibly that ridiculous ad campaign in Japan) they didn't really lose anything either, and small negative returns are meaningless since they still walk away with an IP, Wii engine resources, and more.
You do not have the right to never be offended.
they had shipped 300k just before european launch, we assumed it didn't include european launch but even if it did they should have shipped more than that in America and Europe. I don't think it could have been less than 400k.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
ROFFLE this thread is a clusterfuck. Trolls everywhere.
I'm not going to lie, Z&W is probably overtracked and there are contradictions everywhere. I'd really like to see the drama unfold if Capcom actually reacts to Sven contradicting the financials.
Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

I'll have to try this game.
And I'm going to assume his statement concerning Okami in the OP is wrong, because I prefer it that way, and he appears uninformed :)
Okami
To lavish praise upon this title, the assumption of a common plateau between player and game must be made. I won't open my unworthy mouth.
Here's what Capcom should ask themselves:
How many copies would Zack & Wiki have sold on PS3 or 360?
| thetonestarr said: I agree, Nordlead. Svensson isn't making any sense, and frankly, if he's a vice-president, why isn't he allowed to make decisions for himself? Something sounds very fishy here... |
These days in the US, a VP is usually a middle manager rather than an upper level executive. Lots of companies have hundreds of VPs.

I don't see why that's relevant. If they thought it would sell better, they would have have put it on those platforms.
If Zack & Wiki really is a failure, the answer isn't going to be to put the next one on HD consoles, the answer will be not to make a second one at all. T_T

Well.
That sure is a bummer. I guess.
I've been buying relatively niche CAPCOM titles for years, though. At least we got the game.
