If you don't like the PS3 for the game library that's something I can respect you buy a game console to enjoy the games. No one is forcing you to like the game library or the console.

But saying the price is outrageuos or too high is just strange to me. 1/3 the price was shaved off the initial cost if you wanted BC too bad you missed your chance(glad I have full BC). The PS3 will always be the most expensive console on the market this gen get over it. If you dont like the games, say so. If you dont like Sony, say so. If you just like the other consoles more for the love of God, say so.

Games dont appeal to me as much as Xbox 360's.....Halo 3's Sci-Fi Action combined with Gears 2 intense violence satisfies my taste more so than say Killzone 2 & SOCOM.

(Predicted on 5/31/11) END of 2011 Sales - Xbox 360 = 62M;  PS3 = 59M;  Wii = 97M

 Every console is bound to have one or two games a person will want to play. The question becomes how much playing those games is worth. I would love to play Disgaea 3, but it isn't worth spending $400 on. Just because a console shaved a third of its prcie off does not mean it is suddenly affordable for everyone. $400 is way more than I would ever spend on a console regardless of how much it started off at.

And if not right now, in a couple of years when the price is ~$250 you may want to pick it up. In the meantime you have plenty of rpgs to play on the 360 so it's all good.

I thought the entire point of this thread was to discuss why we haven't picked one up yet and not if we'll eventually do it if certain things happen.

Everyone should buy a PS3 just for Valkyria Chronicles. Better yet, just buy Valkyria Chronicles, even if you don't want to get a PS3.

Only the Sony PS3 exclusives will remain PS3 exclusives. Third party PS2 exclusives are all going multi-platform. I expect more third party exclusive games previously on PS2 will be heading for multi-platform.

E3 2009 could result in FFXIII Japan release on XBox 360. The biggest surprise FF XIII Versus to be coming to XBox 360/PC where MMOJRPG title would sell much better than being solely on PS3. Trade-off for PS3 they can have Star Ocean: Last Hope.

Exclusive Play Station third party titles are coming a thing of the past. The PS3 is still in the shadow of its predecessor PS2. PS3 no longer being PS2 B/C hinders sales of PS2 console upgrades who will now buy a Xbox 360 or Wii instead of PS3.

PS3 is still the high end console on the market only $100 more expensive than the 360 and $150 more than the Wii.

I doubt it would change when the price of the PS3 dropped they need an ecxuse so they go for price first.

Everyone decides for themselves how much is inexcusable. 

I have two PS3's and I have only played three of my 13 games all the way through and I refuse to buy blu-ray movies because they are $10 more expensive then DVDs typically.  How inexcusable do you think I think it was when I spent $499 and $599 for my PS3's?  It was a waste of my money.  Obviously given sales this Christmas a lot of people feel the same way I do.

I could go on and on about this but I will just say simply the b3yond the outrageous price tag (I have never spent nearly that much on a system, and especially wouldnt for an INFERIOR* system) that I cannot stand that freakin controller and all its damned crappyness. I hate the controller with a passion and to me thats one of the more important aspects of a platform.
