I have to admit that I'm a total programming n00b when it comes to making any sort of script or game.
But I was thinking that it would be cool to have a VGChartz: The Game and make it sort of like a Video Game Tycoon-type game.
Basically the premise of my proposed game is that you're the CEO of a large videogame company and you have to build and market a successful videogame system. You have to consider stuff like budget, technology, 3rd party publishers, 1st party titles, exclusives, ad campaigns, pricing, etc. etc.
Then the market can be divided into groups of people, hardcore gamers, young kids, older adults, etc. etc. and can be further separated by regions.
The game would be turn based and each turn would last one quarter of a year.
the main screen would have all those options as described; but then you can go to the VGChartz.com website to see how your console is doing up against the competition, and what the fanboys are saying about your game.
How would that sound? I could give it a shot using game maker or something; but I think it would be best if we all had input on it.
