Forums - Nintendo - Is it me, or most people who don't really care for the Wii...

I'm pretty much playing 360 and DS right now...

I don't see what your point is, Soriku. The Wii doesn't have a lot of RPG's either. The 360 actually beats it pretty badly in that category. The people that don't care about the Wii, I think, are the people that want to play good and fun games. Those people just play DS and older games honestly. All the next-gen consoles are pretty bad. I don't see why anyone would like ANY of the 3 consoles.

Oh, I just got Tales of Symphonia 2 today, and I am at the final boss in Vesperia! I'm so happy!

I'm a fan of pretty much all genres not just the stereo typical FPS's Gears Of War type gamer . I just don't find the Wii interesting enough to warrant a purchase , i'd definetley play it at a friends house but it would get no usage at home.

One issue is it's graphical abilities ; I feel like i'm playing on the N64 with many Wii games , I can only forgive the poor quality graphics when there is good art direction ( Which I must admit the Wii is probably about to outdoing the PS360 this year )

Software : Admitedly my friends don't buy the best games for their Wii's so I haven't been able to play some of the top quality exclusives on the platform like Super Smash Bros Brawl or Galaxy , from the gameplay videos and understanding of the Wii mote mechanics I don't think it offers anything significant over the game cube experience.

When I first saw the Wii I thought they'd be more scientific the the control scheme e.g 1:1 fighting motions in red steel , they terribly disappointed me and the stigma hasn't left . I literaly can't see the Wii as anything more than a childs toy , i'm sure it's more than that but I don't care enough to find out otherwise.

The other guy talking about fps, they need wii motion plus, way too impercise.

The MotionPlus is an additional accelerometer that allows for true 1:1 movement, and is therefore for games other than FPSes, though there really aren't many to choose from in the first place. The IR sensor, the main component in FPSes, is already precise enough for FPS games. MotionPlus has nothing to do with it.

its so not that precise.

but yeh it'll be good for golf games for example.

they better start doin more than just waggling in 1 to 1

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

@Soriku

I doubt the Wii will suddenly be an RPG machine by the end of the year, Soriku. Let's just see if it can catch up to the 360 first.

I'll just stick with 360 and DS for now. Wii doesn't really show any promise at all compared to those two.

does the wii even have 1 jrpg thats a must have?

i dunno what to think of this post, even the PS3, who has a dissapointing rpg lineup has Valkyria Cronicles and soon WKC.

the wii has loads of rpg coming tho, but i dont see any of them surpassing VC or WKC in quality this year.

^^'' Soriku now you do it again. You always sound like the X360 and the PS3 doesn't have any J-games. Still the hype in the Western world for JRPG's is the biggest for games on X360 and PS3. Star Ocean/FFXIII etc.

Crystal Chronicles are garbage

If I was desperate for good JRPGs I'd be on the DS. Apart from that, most of the best and most popular Japanese franchises in the west are still on the HD consoles: Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Resident Evil...

The Wii is getting a lot of Japanese support but nothing that really stands out as AAA.

Would you rather gestures? 'Waggle' isn't the problem, it's how it's used, Nintendo is victim to this also, compare the sword play in Twilight Princess to Suda51's No More Heroes.

Again 1:1 Motion has nothing to do with IR.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Gamers who don't like Wii generally:

1) Grew up with 3D games.

2) Are males between ages 10 and 25.

3) Like you said, stick to one or two Western genres.

4) Aren't attracted to new or weird games.

Strange little games always attract me, Parappa the Rappa, Mario Paint, the first Sim City, etc. Nintendo has them in spades this gen, both on DS and Wii.

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)
