Forums - Microsoft - Does the 360 have any real exclusives?

No one cares about console shooters?!?!?!  Halo 3 has 700,000 unique users playing daily.  Well over a year after release.  And it isn't even the top live game.  CoD:WaW currently is.  So that means it has at least 700,000 people playing it on a daily basis.  Even 1.34 million people chose to play L4D on the console instead of the pc.  And it doesn't even have large pc requirements.  You guys can come up with something better than that.  Year head start, shooters...what is next on the PS3 fanboy agenda?

I've seen some xbots here say that the 360's headstart doens't matter.. Since we're here and now. I'd like to use that argument against them. Since we are here and now, why would we care about exclusives from 2 years ago? For example: If I would buy a 360 right now, I would not buy Viva Pinata... Or the first Gears of War... Also, why bother to buy the 1st Saints Row? The 2nd one is already out on both platforms....

Also... this year the ps3 has improved its number of exclusives... Since we're here and now, I would rather own a ps3 then a 360, since much more games that I like are coming exclusively on the ps3 this year.... If we'd only count the upcoming and recent exclusives, I see that the ps3 is either ahead of the 360/ equal.

Fantastic article Onyxmeth!!!
This really does put the "lack of 360 exclusives" rubbish to rest.....

Hmm who used that argument first? ....

It comes up everytime a "20xx list of upcoming exclusives" thread is created...

@ your previous comment about the year head start doesn't matter

That's like saying any future PS3 exclusive launched after the "death" of the 360 shouldn't be counted  <--- yeah its a dumb statement, just like the one your implying!

LOOOOOOL. Did you even bother to read the posts in this thread ??

360 fanboys said that the PS3 has no exclusives back in mid 2007, where it was (half)true. PS3 fanboys still say the 360 has few exclusives.

troll somewhere else !

First it was the reverse... And I'm not trolling.. I'm having trouble the xbots are getting hurt with a statement, they used against the other consoles for years.

It has nothing to do with exclusives. Microsoft certainly has more exclusives (As has been proven).

To what quality are these exclusives? Most GOOD "exclusives" (As in exclusives you would want to play as the average gamer) are also available on PC. All that this thread proves is that the 360 has a lot higher percentage of mediocre exclusives than the PS3 and a lower percentage of good exclusives.

Sometimes percentages are useful to make a point and sometimes not.

Can you play percentages ? No but you can play games.

And you're not forced to buy the crappy exclusives (which are definitely in favour of the 360)

For a system that has been out a full year longer,  you most certainly can play percentages.   There is 3 games in (Three years) that are 'exclusive to the 360' with over a 90+ Metacritic.    The PS3 currently has 2 in (Two years).   With the possibilities of KZ2, God of War III, GT5, Uncharted 2 all looming that number looks to climb and quite possibly surpass the current 360 amount of 3.

Another almost certainty,  is that the 360 (Remember with a full year extra under it's belt) has 14 titles 80+ via Meta Critic compared to the PS3 with 12 titles 80+ via Meta Critic.   Even assuming only one of the above mentioned titles can achieve a 90+ Meta Critic rating (Tying the 360 at 3).

The remaining three above should achieve easily an 80+ Meta Critic rating. Which again thrusts the favor to the PS3 and gives the PS3 the edge.  Considering how many games the 'Average' Video gamer will purchase, it is likely that these gamers will be most likely to be playing games from the 80+/90+ Meta Critic ratings.

Given this. The PS3 has a better array (Albeit very slightly) of exclusive games that you cannot play on any other platform.

The point of this thread may have been to shed light on the fact that the 360 has a large amount of sheer Xbox 360 exclusives,  but really all it does is show how big of a disappointment much of that large library is.

The PS3 is the only console to release games in the next years ?

The rest are pure assumptions.
