d12ewis, this is unlikely, but is it possible that from the other cops perspective they were trying to hep you? May be in their minds you were ruining your engagement going off with this "holster sniffer" and they thought if they took her away from you/ made her life miserable you would leave her/ she would dump you and you would go back to your finance. May be they are just idiots and the whole thing was a misunderstanding.

I am on & off with a cop and I can tell you its no different here. Sorry to hear about your Girlfriends but quitting, isn't that a bit drastic? I mean despite the people you have a good career going. I suppose if it is making you unhappy though you do whats best. Good luck :)

@OP: Yeah, cops are messed up. I can't even tell you the stuff that cops do here where I live, you wouldn't be able to sleep at night. It's good to hear that there are cops that have some decency in them.
Don't quit your job. Ask for a transfer.

I also would like to say I hate most cops. Every once in a while I get lucky and run into one that actually wants to *help* people but most of the time they are just SEARCHING for a reason to bust you. Once my friends car broke down and I went to help her out and the cop who was there was interrogating *me*. He was supposed to be helping her, but instead hes asking for my ID and shit and asking me if I ever go by the name "Amanda" (my name is Artemis). I was like wtf?!!! I've had several ridiculous run ins with the cops where they were pulling shit like that on me.
