Whoa, the 360's at nearly 8%? That's a lot, for a Western console in Japan! That's like what, an 800% increase over the original Xbox? :) Pretty sweet.

Wii obviously the monster of the home consoles but nothing compared to the handhelds. Go on, put the handhelds into the equation and lets see where the home consoles fit in there.

I agree.  I don't expect it to sell too amazing.

Better then the PS2 games though.

Still The Wii's marketshare in japan likely won't be stopped.  Japan has always supported one console to the bigger end.

The only time they didn't was the PS1 era and god knows they tried really hard.

I mean they kept the Saturn running forever.

Actually isn't the plan FF13 spinoffs.

Pretty sure they said they wanted to milk FF13 after it's release for a few years.  It's just we expected it to be released earlier in the gen.

Lots of naysayers regarding Monster hunter in Japan. I say it will be a huge system seller. People in Japan will be buying the Wii just for this title i think. Dragon quest will be a big system seller too. I think most of the people who will be getting FF13 have probably already got got ps3s as it's regarded as a Sony franchise anyway.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

I think it's safe to say that GT5 will do pretty well. Assuming the PS3 gets a price cut this year in Japan it should do great.

Should be a great year for both the PS3 and wii this year in Japan.

i know how to spell. Its a gaming forum, not an essay. ill use bad grammer and be a letter off if I please.

and I dont knw what propaganda u listen to but 360 has plenty 09 games, both exclusive and 360/PC. As the weeks go buy the notion that PS3 has a stronger 09 lineup will slowly fade as the 360 release list gets bigger and bigger.
