I'm holding reserves for this game. Killzone 1 was in no way a good game and i'll wait untill i play it before I say it's a good game...
If I remember correctly, a very similar situation happened with Killzone one at first, everyone was claiming it to be the greatest/halo killer, even the first of the reviews gave into the hype. I'd rather think it'll be crap and be suprised rather then the other way around.
It's me... no really, it IS me!!!
Christhegamer said: The game will be OK, but the problem with KZ is that it is only a game and not a movement like Gears or Halo. Also the problem is that silly people create threads like " KZ2 is better then Crysis", "KZ2 is best game ever", etc. We all know that its non of them and when someone buy's it and finds that out you will be disappointed. To make a game good it needs to connect with the players and I have been playing games for over 25 years and KZ2 has not connected with me. I have know idea who the main man is. Even my wife knows Master Chef, that is how you make a game good, people need to get into the spirt of the game and KZ doesn't do that. So it will be OK and thats albout it.
You're comparing an extremely well-known 3-part franchise to a game you've never played before. Good job.
Does that make the entire CoD series bad for always making you play as some random soldier? A storyline isn't exacly connected to the gameplay itself. Actually there's been alot of good games with pretty bad plots coming out recently.
@windbane, no I haven't played it, but I did play the original which was by no means a quality game. True I am just assuming, but I am willing to bet KZ2 will be mediocre due to the pedigree of the developer and the series.
The problem is the events leading up to launch are so similar to the original. It probably is good, but until people play it, they're going to think of what happened with the first killzone and use that as evidence of its suckage.
totally stupid post
bagging out people who think it will suck
yet I could do the same about people who think it will be full of awesomeness.
The only true answer is simple. Some will love it some will hate it after they played it. You can't force your opinions of a game on everyone. It is up to the individual to make up their mind.
well i think it is just the halo owners who want to play killzone 2 but cant afford to fork out for a ps3 in the economic environment. so they have put themselves into a bubble where Killzone 2 is the crappiest game since well halo, jokes since carnival games.
you wont miss what you convince yourself is crap. lalalala killzone 2 is the worst game eva, *even though it would be my most hyped game have it been on wii/360 exclusive, or i had a ps3*
So glad i already have a ps3 though s i can play the best looking console game to date.
Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!
Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st ![]()
soulsamurai said: There are massive amounts of threads claiming that Killzone 2 will be the "greatest gamez evahz! omgwtfbbq!", but for every thread posted there is about 20 posts withing it claiming killzone will be a huge let down with nothing, but dissapoint and mediocre reviews. While people maybe a little over excited, some people are just down right cynical claiming a games going to be junk. Play the game before you judge. Many people got hyped for GTAIV to find out it was nothing special, many of those people who were claiming that one was going to be one of the greatest games (including me) will admit it was a huge let down. Killzone though will absolutely not be a letdown at least for multiplayer. I was lucky enough to get into the beta, and just playing a mere beta I can say that the game, will not dissapoint no matter how hyped it is. The multiplayer is as solid as a 3 foot wall of solid adamantium. Ask any person who was in the beta they will tell you exactly what I'am saying right now. Quit the nesaying, if you don't wanna get hyped don't, but don't couph up garbage if you havn't played it.
Its just another shooter game big deal.
CAL4M1TY said: The problem with hype, is that when the game is released, expectations created by word of mouth (hype threads) as opposed to the merits of the game itself, will cause people to become "upset" (for lack of a better word) because they assumed that this game would change gaming forever, and when it didn't, they become disillusioned and judge the game more harshly then they would have if they had not been hyped into believing this game will be a masterpiece.
I've said this before and I'd say it again. Hype is what you make of it. If Crazzyman tells you the ps3 will sell 50 mil and you believe it, good luck to you. On the same front, if someone told you that killzone 2 was so awesome that gods were spawning in the game and thats what you expect, good luck Chuck.
If you have realistic expectations like I do i.e A game with excellent graphics and good multiplayer (my primary concern when playing FPS), chances are, you won't be let down.

I'm willing to bet money that you don't have a ps3...just a hunch!
