Forums - Sales - Your Blu-Ray buying habits?

For those of you who have a Blu-Ray player, what and how do you buy? Since many B-R discs are still fairly expensive in comparison to DVDs, what do you buy and how often? I recently started to buy some B-R discs but I've been very selective thus far. I bought The Dark Knight, Terminator:Sarah Conner Chronicles season 1 when I saw it on sale for a little under $20 and Terminator 2 for cheap at Best Buy. I will buy new big budget action movies with great special effects and other movies I love when they're under $20 and I will also replace a few older movies I have on DVD already that I love that will look nicer on B-R. I won't though replace anywhere near the number of movies I already have on DVD. I have bought over 1,000 DVDs and I don't need to spend the kind of money it would take to do that. So at most, I might buy 50 or so of them on Blu and only when I see them on sale or some sort of deal.

How about you. Will you replace any of your DVDs or stick to buying just stuff you don't have. Also, are you buying a lot of stuff now or waiting until the price of the discs come down a little more?

I'll come up with something better eventually...

Despite having a PS2 for ~two years, I have only bought two Blu-Ray movies. Got Dark Knight for Christmas and recently found Terminator 2 for $10 d|^_^|b

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I've never bought a blu-ray movie but since blu-rays don't cost any extra to rent, almost all of the movies I've rented since I got my blu-ray player are blu-ray movies.

I Netflix all of my Blu Rays. Get two every week. Burned through the Planet Earth ones pretty quick. Just watched U2 Rattle and Hum. I got Sunshine and Wanted for christmas. Probably won't buy many because I already own 300 dvds and will most likely never double dip. Especially until the price comes down.

Well I "just" have a PS3 not a "real" blu ray player and I have to say that I'm not really interrested in blu ray... I bought a movie when I had my PS3, then I bought another one for my brother that's all. The problem is that I only have one blu ray player so I can watch my blu ray only in the living room. If I buy a DVD, I can watch in it my living room, bedroom, office and everywhere with my laptop ...

But I have to say that I don't have a lot of DVD's, something like 20, maybe 25...

If I'll wait to get a second PS3 before buying more blu ray discs.

And BTW, I'll NEVER buy a blu ray movie I already have on DVD, excepted Advent children if it's released in europe.

Spent around 300 bucks over the holidays on BDs since they were cheap. I myself also have lots of DVDs and the only ones I replaced were The Godfather trilogy and L.A. Confidential. I am still looking to buy The Dark Knight and some sort of ultimate version of T2 if it's ever released.

What do ya think about the godfather trilogy on bluray? Does it deserve the price?

With that said....

Last BR movies I got were Dark Knight, and Handcock + PS3 Remote for X-Mas...

BR will NOT replace my collection anytime soon... if at all..

Reason be that I have a in Vehicle DvD players, Portable DvD Player, and DvD players in every room.

And all I have is 1 Blu-Ray Player in the whole house...

As with many people out there...

BR will not take over DvD for reasons like I stated.

When Movies come out in Movie Theaters they will be available for Download for a high price that same day it hits theaters..

And that will be fine with people.

instead of going to a crowded Movie Theater, paying for over priced food and drinks, probably sitting by or behind someone with the Flu, that's to ignorant to stay home...

sorry.. kind of went into a movie theater rant..

Anyway.. BR will gain ground, but will not replace anything.

Bigger and better things are coming very soon.

And thats why my BR buying habbits have just stopped sense X-Mas.
