Forums - Sony - lesson 4 Sony: Sega launches Yakuza3 marketing campaign of epic proportion

Its said to hear that Sega currently has no plan to port this for western audience. I'd kill for just a subtitle only western release.

On that noted, these advertising probably didn't cost Sega nearly as much as you'd think. The main attraction is probably the blatant advertising they are receiving in game thanks to brand recognition. It benefits both all parties and they would obviously want to make a point of highlighting affiliation.

link please

EDIT:Never mind already found them

My initial prediction for this game was 600k LTD in japan ... But you know what guys? I think we have here a serious contender for the million (japan only)!

No past Yakuza title has broken 750kin Japan. Why would this?

Care to bet? Control of avatar and signature for one week, Yakuza 3 first two months of sales in Japan will not pass the 725,000 mark.

Sony doesn't have to learn from Sega.....unless you want them to end up like Sega. Sony isn't living up to its legendary PS2 marketing because their trying to conserve resources and hope their games produce their own hype. It's not like Sony forgot that they have to advertise. They seem to deem it a matter of priority.

Well unfortunately that new strategy of prioritizing isn't benefitting Sony's games, so maybe the priority should swing back the way of it's legendary PS2 advertising so they can sell games better than they have been lately.

I expect some epic sales then.
