I have a feeling that you really enjoyed playing LBP.

Platformer basically means: jumping, grabbing, flicking switches, opening / closing things / not dying because of certain obstacles, collecting things, killing enemies with a weak point. All of which are available in LBP. What else constitutes a platformer for you exactly? |
I do not take any issue with giving LBP the title of platformer. However, other past games in this style has gameplay elements that can not be simulated in LBP. Can you make a Castlevania level where it actually plays like Castlevania and not simply looks like it? How about Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom arcade?

What would be the purpose in buying LBP if I'm playing to perfectly emulate another game ? I think your expectations of LBP are a little off.
LittleBigPlanet is the perfect platformer. If you are complaining that you can not do enough, you need to look no further than the community created levels. Someone made a working calculator, now if that isn't enough freedom for you in a game I have no idea what is.
It doesn't really sound like you like the game. I mean a pro of the game that I thought really stood out was the fact that it was fun! I don't share your quibbles with the menus either. I think they are really good and you can access them anytime you want. What do you want to change Sackboy into? I can see this on a PC game, like putting Samus Aran into HL2, but consoles just don't do this. I think the options are extremely varied and moreso that any other game I can think of. I mean in RE4 Leon got like 3 outfits, that you had no control over at all. In LBP you have hundreds maybe thousands of variations. Like I noted before, it just sounds like you don't like the game, and while I respect that, I don't think the reasons you give are alltogether valid. Maybe you don't like the graphic style? Alot of people didn't like Windwaker because of the cartoony cell shading, even though gameplaywise, it was exactly like Ocarina Of Time.
| Infinity said: Cons: Obscure menu system - So? No Custom soundtrack support - So? Limited gameplay - You mean unlimited gameplay, you can continute making levels till the end of time Makes you go through too many tutorials before you can make a level - Would you rather go in not knowing how to create anyting? Limited number of items in your profile - I don't even know what you mean by this. I'll just say "So?" |

Pros: Good GREAT Graphics Good integration of your friends on PSN
Cons: Obscure menu system No Custom soundtrack support Limited gameplay Makes you go through too many tutorials before you can make a level Limited number of items in your profile |
Fixed. I agree otherwise. I just hit the limited items in profile thing recently and found it rather annoying as I had to delete stuff one by one. Very annoying. They need to patch it.
The platforming section of it needed to be a bit longer, in my opinion and the "story" needed to be a bit more obvious and planned out -- then have the game follow it. It just seemed a like a bunch of cool levels with no real purpose to me.
The DLC seems to be promising but the MGS DLC, while pure awesome, was WAAAAY to short. It needed to be about twice as long as it was! Hopefully the next DLC will be longer and be more "full game-like".
Awesome game, though.
