In my mind its always been linked to gaming.. at least with lots of folks that I know. Whenever possible, I turn all the in-game music off and leave the sound effects on.. replacing the music with a ferry corsten or paul van dyk mix.  That's buckets and buckets of fun.

oooh speaking of which.. paul van dyk's new cd In Between came out last week. Has anyone heard it? Its really a mixed bag.. some of the tracks (like Get Back, Dolce Vita and Let Go) are forking awesome. Really, you should listen to them.. however some of the others are completely unlistenable.. mostly ruined by bad vocal tracks like the one with the chick from the pussycat dolls or Stormy Skies. Good cd, but you can't listen to it all the way through.

Paul Van Dyk is actually pretty good, but sometimes a bit too much like "pop music".

yeah, he's a bit too much into pop, but I do like a bit of trance and techno sometimes...while gaming too.

I do like electronic music a lot, but trance, no.

I like all sorts of music - so long as they are of quality exemplary of the genre.

Trance helps me work on boring, redundant tasks because it sets the pace (fast) and lets me zone in to the music and my tasks, while zoning out of the world.

And yeah, I love trance - but then again, I love lots of genres (hip-hop, speed metal, baroque, electronica, and so on).

I got a playlist running Nine Inch Nails and MSI while playing WoW, if you read this Ckmlb, yes i've started again :P
