ah thanks for the answers, is there an explaination on why sometimes I randomly lose the projects I'm working on?

I was working on a project that was 300k on my ps3, it got to 60% my ps3 crashed, I restarted and the project was gone and replaced with a new one.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

You have 5 days to submit regular sized units or else they are no longer of any use to the project. When you miss the dealine, your unit is dropped and a new one is downloaded.( you get no credit). In other words, if you can't commit to an average of about 2 hours per night, you'll lose a lot of units.

Whats the point of getting the points, do you actually get something for having a certain amount of points or is it just a score to brag about?

Satisfaction, Pride and something to challenge yourself with.

^but isn't it hard on the PS3 running at such at top speed for such a long time. Isn't it the cause of some PS3's breaking?

I have 469+ WU (about 8 hours of folding each) over 2 PS3. One did fail, but it failed at playing GTA4, not at folding. Worry about your electricity bill, not your ps3 failing, when folding. (as long as it is well ventilated in a cool place.)

oh, that's why I failed. only 5 days huh? never knew that part. Thanks.

my ps3 has been on since i bought it and Folding@home came out... I dunno how long that has been now (2 years?)  and it's never had a problem.

Only problem with ps3 hardware i've had is i broke two controlers by dropping them on concrete too many times (well, my cats did) now i keep them somewhere safer :)
