using my ps3, how do I join a team? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I know just about nothing to do with folding but quite interested in it.

You can go to the folding@home webpage and view the teams. To join it you just change your settings to be in "that" team. You can change teams any time.

I'm not sure if there is a vgchartz team.

currently i'm 23% on my current project, once I reach 100% I think I'll have it sussed :p

I did folding when I lived in Albuquerque, but I am trying to save money on my power bill and can't fold anymore. I may do it when in midspring.

I apologise in advance if these questions are stupid but...


1. my ps3 is currently not connected to the internet but the percentage on my current project keeps going up, does that mean I don't have to be online to fold?

2. I'm trying to fold on my ps3 and pc using the same name on both of them, if I do that, do they work on the same project or different ones and does the same name get credited with the works?

3. when folding on the ps3, am I right in thinking it can't be done in the background?

4. How does the scoring work? been looking at the league tables and don't understand them.

How do I get to the Webpage on PS3? Does "Life" have to be on?

It receives packets when it's online.  Then it works offline.  And then submits them (when you are online again).

your pc and ps3 will get different projects to work on.  The same name will get creditted with both projects.

The ps3 only folds in the foreground as a "screen saver" (set it as your default in PS3 Life or whtaever it is called)

Scoring isn't really fully explained.  But the more "work" a protein is to calculate the more points you get. 

From the PS3 you can start the folding at home app and go to "info" (from life)
