Forums - Gaming - US STUDY : Gamers are "likely" drunks and druggies -

Cool we're in the same world than singers, actors and porn stars!

I just wonder if those with more active social lives (i.e., frat boys) just don't have the time to play video games.

Of course, while that explains the relationship findings, it does not account for the alcohol use.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

I like having a few beers whilst gaming.
I dont see anything wrong with that.

Agreed.

  Tifa got MOVES!

I'm kinda a drunkard, and I'm working up the courage to buy an ounce of hydro, despite the random drug testing at my job....so anecdotally, it's true.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Surprising findings, considering that gaming has certainly moved out of the "wastoid" zone, certainly across the past decade (damn, are the 00's almost over already? Time flies)

Not surprising that the study had such findings, and was sponsered by Brigham Young University

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

haha that article was a laugh i mean seriously?? I've been gaming since the atari days and I didn't start drinking til a year after I turned legal when a friend became 21 himself, since then I've always enjoyed drinking and gaming although I definitely am not drinking because of VG. Aside from the brew I am as far away from negative behaviors as can be :P

“When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down “happy.” They told me I didn’t understand the assignment and I told them they didn’t understand life." - author unknown

They have mixed up cause and effect...

No shock to me. Everybody gamer I personally know is under some kind of influence when playing games.
