Forums - Gaming - Atlus USA teasing new Shin Megami Tensei?

Wonder if it'll be on PS2 still.

Atlus doesn't really have many options.

There was supposed to be a SMT game for PS3.... though haven't heard of that since 95 and i wonder if Atlus has the budget for it.

They aren't a big company and they are very conservative.

it's already on PS2, all they have to do is localize the game.  I remember listening to IGN's Podcast Beyond a while back and they said they're making SMT4 for PS3.

It's the second Raidou Kuzunoha game. It was recently released in Japan. I wonder if it'll include the new director's cut of Nocturne.

Knowing Atlus, they probably might have to include it with the game.  You know how much they love their fans.

@superbeast1370

how recent was that podcast?

Atlus can make a PS3 game on a low budget.  They just have to use celshading a la Nocturne.  It will most likely not be technically impressive game visually but the art style would make it a serious looker.

"What ever happened to the Shin Megami Tensei PS3 title, any rumblings from Atlus Japan at all or did they get eaten by demons?

AJ: Sadly, this too is just a rumor, but it would certainly be an exciting development. And it would certainly make me feel better about the answer to the first question in this interview."

But... it was announced.

I mean this guy is just from the American division right?

I mean Sony announced it in 05.

How can it go from "announced game" to "rumor".

Bring on PERSONA 5! PS3 EXCLUSIVE BABY!!!

i never really payed any attention to the SMT games regretably until P3. That game stole my heart. Then I played Persona 4, out did 3, and stole the number 3 spot in my top RPG franchises of all time(FF, Kingdom Hearts, SMT:Persona).

I was thinking now that I might go back and try Nocturne, which seems to be really popular.

I would just love a new Persona or a SMT game for PS3!

This is what word of mouth can do to a game years after it comes out.  The demand became so high that Atlus had to do a reprint of the game last year even though the game came out over 4 years ago.  That's partially why the series has been gaining some serious steam recently with Persona 3 and 4.

it does look like a sackboy.
