Forums - Sales - Nintendo sees big market share increase in 2008

Pretty amazing, considering Ninty hardware & software is much cheaper. Also amusing that MS was the only one to lose revenue.

But in the end, this is as misleading as it can be. Whereas this is "platform" revenue, both MS & Sony DON'T get the bulk of the revenue listed there (3rd-parties do).

And it doesn't take into account costs.

...

The only thing this means, is that retailers will be pushing Ninty products harder than ever in 2009, as they bring in a greater share of total revenue.

That's crazy if 99% of the growth came from Nintendo and only 1% came from all other companies combined. Of course, Apple was excluded...

I don't think you can really call this chart MS biased, since Nintendo has the DS on its side, which easily covers the extra dollars spent on 360 hardware. MS lacks a handheld, so...

Sony biased, maybe. The PS3 is expensive, and the PS2 still sells a decent amount. The PSP hardware costs more than the DS, too (though little software is purchased).

You are going to have to explain yourself here... I don't understand what you said.

The chart shows total money spent on the consoles, so yes it includes 3rd parties revenue for all 3 companies.... how is that misleading.
