Through the 20 dollar memory upgrade program that gets you a 20 gig and 3 months of live for 30 bucks?

Maybe not everyone, but i did.  Got here really fast too.

Of course i don't actually need the HD yet.  But since i've got it, hey.

When I said batteries I meant the standard MS rechargable ones, for no reasonable person is going to continue with standalone batteries. And I dont you can really count the DL games that come with it as a big incentive. At the most you can call it a "Wii Sports" of the system and count it as ONE game. And if you are going to do that why not weigh the fact that LBP has unlimited possibilities as far as a game goes. I have played GALAGA like levels, Mirror's Edge, MGS4 type levels, Puzzles/Quizes, you name it in LBP. Thats like 100 games in one.

At gamestop that I work at 1yr sub to Live costs 49.99 even. It comes with one month free, of course. Yet the PS3 comes with A LIFETIME free where you will never pay to play online. No matter how you slice it, you end up paying WAY more money for 360 then you should, only made worse by the longer you keep it.

Still, most don't see it this way......depressing.

And how long do you really think free will last on psn certainly not a lifetime.

Until its not free, you shouldn't speculate that it won't be, and pretend the 360 is actually cheaper.  Its not at this time, and that's all that really matters.  Who is to say that XBL won't hike their fee if PSN starts charging?  Speculate away...  it doesn't change the facts of the current time.

This gentelmen lacks logic with such an absurd statment, but as for the "Must-Own games on PS3" thing, i gotta admit, MGS4 and Valkyria Chronicles should be MUCH higher then they are.

He's basically saying PS3 won't grow at all since it sold just under 4 million in America this year....

well actually he's saying that's the best that could happen... and that PS3 sales are actually going to decrease.

I get what he's saying. He's talking about the defining title, and that hasn't been released for PS3 yet. Whether that has any significance I won't get into, but it's obvious Sony hasn't gotten it yet. There are still two multiplatform titles sitting atop the PS3 charts that can be acquired on other consoles. The 360 is defined by Halo and the sales and public reception reflect that. The same can be said of the Wii and Wii Sports. The PS3 right now is reflected by a lot of titles getting good sales but no standout title, and COD4 and GTAIV sitting on top shows what the consumers on PS3 are interested in. Basically at the moment, the PS3 is the equivalent of a 360 without Halo 3.

In a nutshell, PS3 needs Gran Turismo 5. It's always been the defining title on the playstation brand.
