I played it yesterday. Was a really good demo, can't wait for it to come out. I'm playing it maxed out with little stutters here and there, but nothing too bad.

Is it played out in tight corridors and office spaces again?

I hated that about FEAR.

And is the annoying radio command voice still there?

Same here.  Although the stutters seemed a bit frequent during the demo when I played.  I'm hoping it's just the demo and the final game won't be like that because my PC is way above their "recommended" settings so there should be no problem.

Ya got the exact same thing. Frequent shutters when entering new rooms or places. The demo looked and played awesome though. About everything and a little more what you would expect from a F.E.A.R sequel =)

Hmmm I didn't have any stutters, but I also wasn't pushing it to be honest. I hate the fucking interface and the menu. Why can't developers make good interfaces anymore ffs.....

I like the fact that they went back with the health/armor and medkit system and not the health regen.

I'll be playing it through Steam when it finishes downloading.

I'll give my impressions then.

What hardware is everyone using?

I'm using an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ BE at 3.22GHz, 4GB DDR2 800, and an HD 4830 512mb. Perhaps the issues are with ATI graphics cards or something?

Core 2 duo e2160 @3.00ghz
2gigs DDR2 ram
EVGA 8800gt OC 512mb

I'm about to try out the demo soon so I'll come back with impressions.

*edit* Okay, I've played through the demo now and I didn't really care for it. I'd say if you liked the first one, you'll probably like this one too. I'm not a big fan of horror, but I can't say I really jumped a whole lot. In a way, I was kind of expecting Alma to pop out or things to happen after experiencing the first game. Same thing goes with dark rooms and flickering lights and it bothers my eyes when that stuff is overused.

Performance wise, running at the resolution of 1182x864 with everything on maximum and 4x AA, I had a decent frame rate that, for the most part, stayed smooth. The game looks good graphically, but nothing too mind blowing. The textures are much better when compared to the first game and the flashy effects and blood strewn everywhere have made a return. What's really annoying though is that I have a 4:3 monitor and the game, no matter what resolution, is widescreen so the top and bottom of the screen became worthless black bars. Top that off with the hud (which is based of the glasses the character is wearing so they look bent) and it's even less of a game to see and makes the screen feel more crowded. Shadows also come into play to help aid the horror, but it's kind of weird that your flashlight doesn't cast any shadows.

Gameplay wise, there's no leaning anymore which feels kind of weird and I don't believe you can do the jumping and sliding kicks anymore instead of a single melee attack. The keyboard binding was annoying because it apparently wouldn't recognize the side button on my Logitech G5, which would make a great button for melee.

Story wise, it's a demo so you can't really excpet much story wise unless it's a demo that covers the start of the game (which this one doesn't). From what it looks like, you play a character who never says a word just like the first game, which annoys the hell out of me (unless his name is Gordon Freeman). Alma is Alma, except she seems even more pissed off than before and now there were other ghosts that are tearing up the city too (at least they're not the stupid looking ghost things from the first game).
