Forums - Nintendo - IGN confirms M&S Winter Olympics, Red Steel 2 also confirmed

http://au.wii.ign.com/articles/947/947571p1.html

"IGN's done a little digging, though, and has independently confirmed that the game is in development and set to be announced in the next month -- which, by the way, really isn't hard to believe given the astronomical sales figures for the first title in the franchise.

Look out for more coverage on the sequel when it's officially unveiled. Until, let the speculation wars rage on about which winter games will and won't make the cut, and just as importantly, whether the title will support Wii MotionPlus, as we all hope it will."

"Guillemot also let slip that Ubisoft is indeed working on a MotionPlus-sporting Red Steel 2, but declined to discuss any details about the game."

I think this is great news! Hopefully the games turn out much better than their predecessors

cool I'll be buying red steel 2 if its bundled with motion plus

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

The Winter Olympics games was most definitely by far the most obvious choice Sega have had to ever make in the past few years. These things happen when you sell 10 million of a game, usually want some more.

Yea, both games were clearly coming but it's good to see confirmation.

Let's see Peach and Daisy in some skimpy winter dresses!

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Yay! Let's all trust IGN for confirming games! Whee.... erm, I mean Wiii! No wait, whee was correct...

I think this is true though, as nothing else makes sense. It's pretty obvious that M&S is coming, and RS2 has been said to be in development for some time...

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

Actually, a M&S Winter Games with balance board and WM+ support could be a hell of a lot of fun. Looking forward to more details on that one.

Can't wait for Red Steel 2 either. I actually enjoyed the first one, except the sword fighting got monotonious after a while which WM+ should fix quite nicely.

IGN is the least reliable source as far as Wii games are concerned. Let's not forget that Kid Icarus game...

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

I'm certainly not going to treat as confirmed a Wii game IGN says is confirmed. These are almost certainly in the works but until someone else confirms it it ain't confirmed in my books. Unless I see Kid Icarus Wii footage in the next one week.

I really really want red steel 2 to be good.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."
