Forums - Nintendo - Anybody else annoyed by "wii" in most game title for the wii?

I didn't say they aren't good games, because they are. But why is the "super" before each one?

I know I'm playing the SNES, I don't need to be reminded by the game title.

And you notice nintendo is the only company that does this.

Sony and the PSP say otherwise:

'Portable' all over the place.

Let's not forget... http://www.vgchartz.com/games/index.php?name=HD

Personally I find slapping "HD" on a game to be humorous, even moreso when it's a downloadable title.

It would be nice to see more creative names but it does seem to be their policy.

I don't really care and if it makes the game sell more, all the better. I'm glad I can get into a MKWii match almost instantaneously.

Plus Gamecube titles didn't have the word "Gamecube" in it probably because it was long which it would be the same for "playstation" or "xbox." However, Wii and 64 is nice and short.  I'm kind of glad that some games have that.  I mean I refer to SSB and Paper Mario as SSB64 and Paper Mario 64 just because just saying them like it is can mix a lot of people up and is too general.  So I really don't see a problem with it at all.

Actually...

Some titles had "GC" on them, but only in Japan.

This isn't any different to games which have a year slapped on them. Most of these other games are part of a continuing franchise and unlike EA, who put out the same games every year, many of them will only get a single revision per console so it makes sense to put the console name in the title.

Sure they could get creative and put a subtitle or just add 1 to the revision number, but this doesn't communicate to the buyer which console it is for and isn't as effective in marketing.

No "advance".......this had a subtitle.....Super Circuit!

That's strange, cause I ever listened it as "MK Advance" o_O

Sorry, my bad.

Why would I?

9 time of 10 having the Wii in the title = Quality game.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Don't sweat the small stuff.
