Forums - Sales Discussion - PS3 20 gig Discontinued

The only difference between the 20 and 60gb PS3s were the built-in Wifi and the useless card-reader: so if you don't need WiFi the 20gb model was clearly the better deal. If I was in the market for a PS3 I'd track down one of the remaining 20gb models while/if they're still available.

Retailers also make LESS money off a 20Gig model than a 60Gig one. That I think is the main reason - otherwise they would want more, as they *should* be easier to sell (lower price).

This was debunked a while back by Phil Harrison. They are not discontinuing it.

This is the second time I have seen you write that there isn't an HDMI on the 20gig version. I assure you, there is an HDMI. As other people have said, the difference is the hard drive, wifi and card readers. It's on sony's site http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/About/TechnicalSpecifications

Yeah Sony got really roasted in the media when they announced the 20GB PS3 wasn't going to have a HDMI port so they added it right before the PS3 launch.
