I forgot about Muramasa! It has a lot to live up but I'm VanillaWare can do it!
Right now I want to say Fragile although Arc Rise would follow
although the one that I'm certain to get would be FFCC the ones above are the ones that so far have brought about more interest going forward from me

I've played it--you should be (and I don't think it qualifies as an RPG).
Toss up between Monster Hunter 3, Muramasa or Little King's Story.

EDIT: ACK!! DOUBLE POST!!
Final Fantasy: Crystal Bearers if it comes out in -09 (I think it will). And of
course Monster Hunter Tri (although I´m not sure it is an RPG).
short term: Fragile (is it really a RPG?), Little King´s Story (not really a RPG, but a Sim), Oboro Murasama and maybe FFCC: echoes of time if the multiplayer is good.
long term: DQX, MH tri, FFCC, To10
