Forums - Microsoft - More Greenberg : Sony is an 'old hardware company'

Even if SOny was an old hardware company maybe MS should takes some things from them. The PS1, 2 and 3 are all built rock solid and quite and efficient. The 360 and its initial debacle and the thing is still noisy as all heck. Less throwing barbs at each other and more focusing on why your system is so good

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

Umm, no.  The PS2 initially was a piece of crap.

i heard about that but it was less than a year, they managed to fix the problem... in contrast the 360.

comfortable with their position? why would anyone ever be comfortable about being in last and losing tons of money... not to sound like trolling, but seriously, why would anyone like that?

When Kaz is talking like Sony is still the market leader, and will be top dog, they open up the door for someone from Microsoft calling them and old hardware company that is complacent.  Sony is in a tough spot, because they can't really run stuff that makes them sound like they are an up and coming challenger and rebel, because they are the top dog.  Nintendo was able to eventually pull that off with the Wii, because they happened to fall behind.  For Sony to do this, they have to end up saying they aren't a market leader, and that means the "pick Sony because it is the safe choice" is out.

I got a PS2 at launch and I still have it and still play it, unlike my 360 which RROD, though was fixed for free which was nice

NA-wise, Greenberg is correct. Outside the US, he has a problem with these claims mathematically.

The latest earnings reports say Greenberg is right...while M$'s report wasn't AMAZING...WOW WEEEE...it's going to look that way, compared to Sony's, as will Nintendo's.

If the PS3's sales were to double, the X360 most certainly would not remain flat -- they're direct competitors. He lives in a fantasy world where the games market expands at a rate such that MS is always doing at least as well as they currently are.
