I grew up playing SF in the arcades, and half the time at home with sticks, so I've gotten used to the placement of buttons going in two rows of six. I occasionally forget to use the shoulder buttons when I play with a regular controller.

Yeah, it's basically whatever makes you comfortable. If I were in your situation, I would go with the option of exchanging positions with the PS3/360 and just get or use a stick.
