Forums - Nintendo Discussion - whos going to buy GTA:chinatown wars + add sales predictions

I'll be buying it, it sounds full of content, great for a handheld game.

I expect it'll have a reasonable first week 300k worldwide, but it's the legs that count when it comes to DS.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Around the Network

I probably won't get it, but right now even with a 2% attach rate, at this exact moment, that's 1.95mil

It looks great for a DS game. I fully intend to purchase it on launch. It looks like a GTA game instead of some realistic shitstorm like GTA IV. I would say its looking at two million in sales based on the massive install base of the DS, the GTA name and (hopefully) quality of the product. With the right marketing and enough hype from reviews I see above two million as possible. I hope it does well anyway.

I had some real reservations about this game but now that initial impressions are out it's looking really good. I'll wait for reviews before deciding but most likely I'll pick this up.

GTA:SA was one of only 2 games I ever played on PS2 (the other being Burnout). I'd like to see both on Wii but GTA on DS should be a great time killer.

Me too!  I beat bully and godfather on wii and loved em both, punching just was so fun.

Never got scarface as I heard it was shite.

I think a Wii GTA could finally open the floodgates for 3rd party guys on wii.  Like how could it not see insanely well?

Scarface on Wii wasn't that bad.  True that Godfather was better but I enjoyed the open feel of Scarface, the drug peddling (which should be even better in Chinatown Wars), the GTA-like driving stunts, etc....

OT:

I'll get it as well.

Expect 200k at launch and 2-3 million in sales (more if retail really supports the game).
