Did you make sure the audio inputs that you hooked into are associated with the vga input?

Input 1-3 is component and composite Input-4 is what the J man dubbed vga mode because it was the only mode accepting a vga signal Input5-9 are hdmi.

thanks, may i ask one more question?
Do you use the original cable that came with the x-box? Because those are composite and component which then you will get higher picture quality and sound

The J man has tried every audio input possible and nothing. The J man is trying to find an option on the tv for this purpose.
N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

The J man bought the core xbox 360 and it may be shocking but his 360 has never gotten the rrod. It only came with the red/yellow/white wire.
And also the J man heard component doesnt support 1080p , is it true?

j-man use the composite input for you tv, the red/yellow/white wire is composite. Also I think(not entirely positive) component can transmit 1080p but with only newer tvs.
Edit: component does indeed transmit 1080p video, but audio quality is ok

buys this one, up to a monkey it can connect it like..
red...audio left.
white..audio right.

And also do not suggest getting a 3.5mm adaptor the J man is to lazy to go to futureshop. And also is there a vga cable available for ps3? |
If J man does have infinite wealth, why won't he spend some of it and get a surround sound home theatre system. Then the matter of the TV making sound during VGA mode will become irrelevant.

Alright J man here are some answers for you. First the 360 will output 1080p over component wires. Unfortunately a lot of Tv's will only display up to 1080i on component hook ups. You'll have to look at your manual to know what you Tv will do.
On the VGA audio problem, if I looked at the right TV pics, your TV only has a 3.5mm audio jack as an audio input for the vga cable. The optical jack is an output and all the analog audio hook ups on the TV are for diifferent inputs. Your either going to have to use the 3.5mm jack or hook it up to a receiver.

It's not that he can't connect, it's that his TV won't accept any audo input other than mini stereo when in VGA mode.

Red is right, white is left.
He just need to bite the bullet and buy 3.5 mm converter to convert that red/white audio jack to 3.5mm if that's the only way his TV would accept audio when in vga mode (it probably set up that way becasue it's design for computer and most computer output audio with 3.5mm min-jack) . It's like $3.00 at my local store. Don't know how much it is where he live, but can't be too much.
