VGA doesn't carry audio. Period. There is no "audio out by the VGA cable". There's nothing wrong with your tv, theres nothing wrong with your 360.

Ok youd think the J man would figure that out since owning this cable for the last 6 months.

The problem is that once the tv is in the vga mode it is only accepting audio from the 3.5mm jack , the J man is asking is there a way to change options or the tv to use red/white audio.

If you're tv is in "VGA mode" no sound will come out, period. You're going to need an outside speaker source for sound.

I've seen a 360 hooked up to a computer monitor before, and the way the guy did sound, he used computer speakers.

When you say vga do you mean the blue tipped cable that is commonly used for pc monitors or do you mean composite which is the yellow cable. The second one comes with the ps3

I believe composite is blue, green & red with no audio

No that is component

You are correct, I am sorry.

Jman, can you list all the options that your tv has when selecting what mode you want o choose, such as hdmi1, hdmi2, cable, av1,av2,

stuff like that because i think you are in the wrong mode, vga is for computer monitors unless that is what you are trying to use it for?

But to use the computer speakers you need a converter and the J man doesnt have that. The thing is that when the J man was using his monitor for his 360 he just connected the red and white wires to a near by stereo and it worked.

Why the J man cant use a tv for the same thing is weird.

This is becoming more complicated than it should be. Why don't you save yourself some trouble and get a cheap HDMI cable? They're like $2 on Amazon

Get some 360 Component cables off eBay or something

Input 1-3 is component and composite

Input-4  is what the J man dubbed vga mode because it was the only mode accepting a vga signal

Input5-9 are hdmi.
